Sur-Ron Bikes |
||
|
Dear Members of the Public,
This notice is issued to address the growing safety concerns related to the operation of Sur-Ron electric motorbikes within public spaces. While these vehicles have become increasingly popular, it is important for all community members to understand Sur-Ron bikes are not legally permitted for use on public roads, footpaths and shared public spaces. They lack any road legal requirements!
If anyone is spotted/caught driving a Sur-Ron bike it will be seized. These bikes pose a significant safety risk. They are capable of reaching high speeds, producing minimal noise and are difficult for pedestrians, cyclists and other road users to detect. These factors substantially increase the risk of collisions, injuries and community disruption. Particularly when they are operated in spaces not intended for motorised vehicles.
We strongly urge people not to purchase a Sur-Ron due to the reasons stated above and to stay safe if they ever come across one in public.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping to maintain a safe and lawful environment for everyone,
Please report via our online service Home - Lancashire Constabulary - Report Online Or in an emergency please dial 999 or 101 depending on the urgency.
